Proposed Relocation of the Exploratorium

After many years and driven by the need to expand, the venerable non-profit Exploratorium is considering a move from the Palace of Fine Arts to the Northeast Waterfront. The Exploratorium is now eyeing Piers 15-17 that would comprise the Exploratorium's museum and administrative offices respectively.

The Port Commission of San Francisco has voted to allow Piers 15-17 to accomodate a non-maritime use and entered into an ERN with the Exploratorium. The next step for the project is for the Exploratorium to conduct community outreach.
