Introduction - The Telegraph Hill Dwellers Oral History Project This project records the experiences of some of the unique people who have made, and continue to make, our neighborhood the wonderful place it is. As well as preserving the character of Telegraph Hill, we want to preserve the characters of Telegraph Hill. To date our collection includes transcripts of interviews with:
Excerpts from some of these interviews are listed to the left. Would you like to read one of these interviews in its entirety, or any others from our collection? The full transcripts are available at the North Beach Branch of the San Francisco Public Library and at the San Francisco History Center, Main Branch. They are also available at the Bancroft Library at U.C. Berkeley. Or, if you are a member of the Telegraph Hill Dwellers, you are welcome to borrow any of the transcripts from our own Oral History Lending Library. Call Audrey Tomaselli at 391-1792. If you would like to get involved in this project, learn more about the history of our neighborhood, and preserve some of that history for the future, call Rozell Overmire, 989-3945. |
